When purchasing a car, it is important to keep in mind that shaking hands and arranging payment does not close the deal. There’s still the paperwork to get done with, and until you’ve accomplished all the pertinent paperwork, that car is not yours yet.



Never blindly sign the papers in a rush to take possession of your new car. Take the time to read the documents, and make sure you understand exactly what you’re getting into. Before you write your name and affix your signature, make sure you’ve thoroughly read each and every word on each document you’re signing.



While it may look like the terms you agreed upon for the purchase of the car are set in stone, there are things that auto dealers may try to slip between the lines—things which may turn out to be a nasty surprise for you. It’s not uncommon for the contract to include overpriced insurance, extended warranties which you may or may not need, and redundant extras like undercoating and rust-proofing (which should already be a feature of your new car anyway). While they may be trying to present the whole as a package deal, it’s important to know that these are available elsewhere, too—like in automotive parts and vehicle shops—and are entirely optional on your part.




If a simple "no" or "no thanks" is insufficient to dissuade the car dealer Hamilton has many more dealerships with people looking to make a deal. Even if they see it your way, though, you’re not out of the woods yet. Before signing anything, make sure you’ve checked the documents thoroughly, with an eye towards extra charges like administrative fees, advertising fees, handling charges or additional dealer markups.



Should you find any of these, feel free to refuse the deal and walk away. Far from being the only dealership Hamilton is bound to have many more you can try to get a clean deal at. Even if that particular dealer refuses, you’re bound to be able to find someone who will be willing to cut a fair deal with you.



Always bear in mind that if you don’t like the deal being offered by the car dealer Hamilton will most certainly have others who will be willing to deal with you fairly. If there’s anything you don’t understand, ask questions, and make sure they give you the answers you need to hear.
